We started our home business of making soy candles in Maryland in 2009, and we moved to West Virginia in 2011. After 12 years in the wild and wonderful hills of West Virginia, we have again relocated to the beautiful, tiny state of Delaware. We wanted to be closer to family members and also closer to the shore. We have discovered there is much natural beauty here to explore. We made sure to have a place in our new home for Twilight Candle Shop to continue.

Twilight Candle Shop has now been a part of our lives for 14 years. We have displayed our products at festivals and craft shows for many years; plus, we sell from our own website and our Etsy shop. As we get older, we do fewer in-person events, but we still sell our candles online and through various retail shops.

I think the idea of making soy candles resonated especially with me, since I made candles back in the 1970s, long before the process of manufacturing candle wax from soybeans was developed. Back then, I would chip away at a big chunk of paraffin to melt and pour unscented layered candles in old milk cartons and such. They were pretty! Unscented candles were popular in those days, but now the focus has changed to scented candles.

The ease of using soy wax has given us the ability to enjoy the peaceful glow and scent of a slow burning candle without polluting the indoor air with harmful and irritating fumes from paraffin. We stock a large variety of "body-safe" fragrance oils, which means they are the same fragrances considered safe for soaps and other skin products. We have expanded our line of products to include both soy and coconut wax candles that are scented only with essential oils. We also have developed a candle making kit with basic equipment for a beginner "chandler" along with complete instructions based on our own learning experiences over the last 14 years.

We are still a small, home-based business, and we care about each and every customer. Our quality control is personal, and our prices are fair. Welcome to our shop, and we hope you will enjoy selecting and trying out some of our products!
